GOD WITH US!



“The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” -PSALM 46:11 [KJV]

Here the Psalmist speaks as directed by the Holy Spirit to praise and bless the LORD who is the Refuge of His people. The LORD who is with us is declared to be, “The LORD of hosts,” the One who has universal dominion over the whole universe. He is the mighty God who rules and reigns in heaven and earth…who speaks and it is! And He is revealed to be, “The God of Jacob.” He who has covenanted to be gracious to whom He will be gracious and show mercy to whom He will show mercy. The Mighty Commander and Emperor of all things is He who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities and whose heart is ravished with the eye of faith, love and desire from those that He has everlastingly loved.

God ordained Authority: Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate

The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine  teaches that when the superior or higher ranking civil authority makes unjust/immoral law, policy, or court opinion – the lower or lesser ranking civil authority has both the God-given right  and duty  to refuse obedience to that superior authority; and if necessary, actively resist the superior authority. The doctrine was first formalized by Christian men in Magdeburg, Germany in 1550.  The lesser magistrate doctrine is rooted in the historic Christian doctrine of interposition.  Interposition   is where one steps into the gap – placing themselves in between the oppressor and his intended victim. Interposition can take place verbally or physically.  The law of God is the objective standard to which all men and all governments of men are accountable.
