 Jesus is Omnipresent

 by DG Miles McKee

We have seen on previous emails of this mini-series seen that God is omnipotent.  That means He is all powerful. In other words, God does whatever He pleases when He pleases (see Psalms 115:3; Isaiah 55:11 and Jeremiah 32:17). Nothing is too difficult for Him (Genesis 18:14).
He also is Omniscient, that means He knows all things!  He is furthermore Omnipresent. Omnipresence simply means

He´s here, there and everywhere all at the same time.

Consider again Revelation 5:6. There we see “----a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”

Observe how in this verse, the once slain Lamb has “seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”

These seven Spirits sent forth are once more a declaration of Christ’s Omnipresence and thus a declaration of His deity!Omnipresence is one of the mighty attributes of God (see Psalm 139:7-12). Although God is not referred to directly in scripture as being Omnipresent, we know that His omnipresence is related to His omnipotence and omniscience. All three of these attributes work in concert with each other. The fact that He is everywhere enables Him to know everything (omniscience) and that He is everywhere (omnipresent) establishes that there is nowhere from which His power is excluded (omnipotence).

It has been observed that the atheist says, “God is nowhere” but when he becomes a believer, he re-arranges the letters of that statement and says, “God is now here.”   Indeed, God is now here, He’s everywhere present at the same time; He’s omnipresent. Rejecters of Christ’s deity do not like to be reminded that Christ Jesus claimed Omnipresence for Himself. Take, for example, that well known verse in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” Did you hear that?  Here once more Jesus Christ is claiming to be God. Of course, establishing His claim to deity was not the primary reason for this verse nevertheless the claim is implicit. Consider this: Jesus, in that verse, claims that if at any time anywhere believers are meeting together in His name, He is right there meeting with them.  In other words, Jesus as He meets with Christians in China is at the same time meeting with Christians in Timbuktu.  In order to accomplish this feat, Christ has to be Omnipresent. and as we all know, only God is Omnipresent. Therefore, since this verse is true then Christ is indeed God! For more scripture on His Omnipresence and Omniscience see also,
Matthew 28:20  Jesus promises His followers,
"I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

John 1:48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
John 13:11
For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
John 16:30
Now we know that You know all things and have no need for anyone to question You; by this we believe that You came from God.
John 21:17
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonas, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.
Matthew 22:18
But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, “Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites?
Matthew 12:25
And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Luke 6:8
But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and come forward!” And he got up and came forward.

What a joy to know that Our God is everywhere.  Angels are not omnipresent nor is Satan.  Only God is omnipresent.  He's everywhere at the same time.  But this is not true of Satan. He can’t be for he is not God.

And that´s the Gospel Truth! Til He Comes...
