Joy and Peace Forever

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” -Romans 15:13 [KJV]


All people, lost and saved, desire both joy and peace. But man, by nature, seeks these things where they cannot be truly found in eternity. He may find moments of joy and peace, but these moments will not last. Some may last until the judgment, but false joy and peace will be exposed as men come before Christ (cf. Matthew 7:21-23). 

The Word of God speaks of “joy and peace in believing.” But people can believe a lie, and most, even in religion, do. This joy and peace come by and from the Lord Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the Gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace to save, preserve, protect, ad glorify His people based on the righteousness of Christ imputed to them, and as the Holy Spirit gives them spiritual life in the revelation of the true Gospel to them. See Isaiah 32:16-20; Romans 1:16-17; 10:13-15  

Those who have a sense of joy and peace by believing in a false gospel of salvation by the works and the wills of sinners will be sadly disappointed unless the Holy Spirit brings them under the TRUE Gospel and gives them the gifts of faith in Christ and repentance of dead works. This is the only joy and peace that will last forever and forever.

JESUS - Rock of Ages

Jesus remains the same in all ages. He is the One who is constant when everything and everyone else fails. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever; the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is our R ock [I SAMUEL 2:2 ] . In the Old Testament, in Exodus 33, Jesus is pictured as the Cleft Rock. In that chapter, verse 18 and following, Moses desired to see the glory of the Lord, but was told, "You cannot see My face; for there shall no man see My face and live.” And the Lord said, “There is a place by Me, and you shalt stand upon a rock: and it shall come to pass, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by." Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 04 October, 2023 A.D.

" All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient." —I Corinthians 6:12 [KJV] The constraints of love and jealousy of fear sweetly unite in the believing heart. Where the faith of Jesus prevails, love constrains. It holds and keeps us in our station and duty, as soldiers are kept together under a banner or ensign displayed. What cheerfulness and activity of soul do we experience, when we can say with the church in the Canticles (Songs of Solomon), ch. 2, vs4. "Jesus' banner over me was love!"
