The Remedy

“ The moment the believer seeks to be better by doing or by applying to the law, we immediately give ourselves to the dominion of the law and from that moment until we are ‘plucked as firebrands from the burning, by grace’ we will become more weighted down by the fetters and shackles of sin..the remedy for such a life is to walk in the Spirit and being led by the Spirit you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, and you will not operate under the dominion of the law.”    -Gospel report by preacher Tim James Sequoyah Baptist Church in Cherokee, North Carolina USA Audio Sermons & Contact Information here:   https://www.sermonaudio.com/search.asp?SpeakerOnly=true&currSection=sermonsspeaker&keyword=Tim%5EJames

The Salvation of the Triune God

Each glorious person in the Godhead has a glorious part in our salvation. GOD THE FATHER chose, sanctified, and set us apart in Christ before the world was; GOD THE SON took our humanity into union to His personal Godhead, was made flesh, lived a perfect life, suffered and died a solemn death, rose again from the dead, and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father, ever living to make intercession for us; GOD THE SPIRIT awakened the dead and "called us with a holy calling" (II Timothy 1:9) . This call is the solemn, soul-quickening, heart-rending call of the Holy God from death to life, from darkness to light, from the power of sin and Satan to the kingdom of the Son of His love. So that, BEFORE THE WORLD WAS , the church was saved purposely by God the Father; IN TIME meritoriously by, the God-man, Christ Jesus, who now lives above, their Mediator, High Priest, and Advocate; and IN THE DAY OF GOD'S POWER (Psalm 110:3) they are saved manifestly

In The World but Not Of The World

There is nothing to this world for a believer. How true this is in one sense for we "are not of this world." The Christ that we love said, "The world hates you because it hates M e." If we were of the world, if our value system was the same as its, if our purposes and goals were the same and if our views of God, man, Christ and the way God saves sinners were the same, the world would love us! Since our only rule of what we believe and what we are to do is the Holy Scriptures, we are therein described as pilgrims and sojourners, just passing through this world. A wilderness it is but God, as He did for Israel, feeds us with manna from on high and spreads a table for us in this wilderness. It is THE GOSPEL FEAST that blesses us on this journey. It is the gospel wherein the righteousness of God is revealed to the faith He gives. Like the manna, we are awakened in the morning of spiritual new birth to find the gift of righteousness already there in

He gave His only begotten Son

Before the foundation of the world, God chose a people in Christ and purposed to be gracious to them ( II Thessalonians 2:13) . Those ordained to salvation were "predestinated to be conformed to the image of Christ" (Romans 8:29) . Here is the question I want you to consider: W hat will God sacrifice in order to save the objects of His love from their sins? What was He willing to surrender so that a multitude of rebels would be justified in His sight? I will first tell you what He did not sacrifice. He did not part with His holy character by compromising His justice because " the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23) . He did not give up His honor by lessening the standard for acceptance: "it shall be perfect to be accepted" (Leviticus 22:21) . And, He did not abandon His Law which says, "the soul that sinneth shall die" (Ezekiel 18:20) . I will tell you the sacrifice God gave to save His people from their sins - His own Son

SAFE IN HIS HANDS

"His left hand is under my head, and H is right hand doth embrace me." -Song of Solomon 2:6 [KJV] Our salvation in Christ is sure, safe and certain as the powerful hands of God (Dan. 4:35; John 10:27-30) . Believer, you are in good hands with Christ, being made one with Him (John 17:22) . His hands are sovereign hands able to save. "Wherefore H e is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by H im, seeing H e ever liveth to make intercession for them" (Heb. 7:25) . His hands are strong hands able to keep us from falling. "Now unto H im that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of H is glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 1:24) . His hands are tender hands able to teach us the way of salvation. "Come unto M e, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take M y yoke upon you, and learn of M e; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find res

Christ Jesus be magnified - The LORD our righteousness!

“ Behold, thou art fair, My love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead .” -Song of Solomon 4:1 [KJV] There is no spot in the Church, because the blood of Jesus entirely obliterates each stain. Omniscience may look for sins, but no more can they be found. The absence of defect is the result of her being adorned with His perfect righteousness. In this no blemish can exist. Thus she appears righteous, even as God is righteous. This blessed truth must be held fast without obliterating the knowledge of our own constant and innumerable transgressions. It cannot be too often repeated, that in ourselves we are deformed and loathsome. The most saintly of saints will ever breathe the prayer, “ God be merciful to me a sinner .” But Jesus says of His people, “ You are all beautiful, My love; there is no spot in you .” -Gospel report by preacher Henry Law (1797–1884 A.D.)

Depths of Gratitude unto Almighty God for ever!

"The eternal God is thy refuge." -Deuteronomy 33:27 [KJV]   Who is this eternal God? He is the great and glorious Jehovah, eternal in His Trinity of Persons and in the Unity of His Essence. And what a depth of blessedness there is in this God being an eternal God; and that in and of this eternity, each Person of the Godhead has an equal share. Look at the love of the eternal God. How eternal was that—not a thing of time, not fixed upon us when first brought into being, not issuing out of His bosom first when we were quickened into divine life; but a love from all eternity, as being the love of an eternal God. "I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee" (Jeremiah 31:3) . And how eternal are the thoughts of God; those thoughts which were of good, not of evil. They were eternal thoughts of peace to the Church; eternal thoughts of mercy to His beloved family; eternal thoughts of manifesting His grace

A Slave to Our Wills

Our Lord said to the Jewish leaders of His day, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of M e. And YE WILL NOT come to M e that ye might have life” (John 5:39-40) . “No man can come to M e, except the Father which hath sent M e draw him : and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44) . It is a well-known fact that many are quick to defend the freedom of man’s will, but our Lord, in these few words, forevermore dashed that heresy to pieces. The Word of God is clear that no man has the natural willingness or ability to come to God and be content to be saved by grace alone through the bloody sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Rather than man’s will being free, it is enslaved. The will is in bondage to our sinful nature. Instead of speaking of the freedom of the will, it would be more accurate to say that man’s will is imprisoned to sin and Satan (John 8:34) . The sinner, therefore, if uninfluenced by e

We are not merely presenting our views and we are not religious clowns. We come before you having been commissioned by the King, with the message of the King, that originated with the King and is all about the King. Bow down proud sinner and worship Christ the crucified, buried, risen and ascended Lord. I am not here to amuse you, but to magnify Christ, to warn you of judgment to come and tell you that the only hope you have of a blissful eternity is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. "For by one offering H e hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." -Hebrews 10:14 [KJV]   To be "sanctified" is to be made a partaker of that holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord; to be made a new creature; to "put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness;" in a word, to be "made a partaker of the divine nature," and thus have the holiness of God breathed into and communicated to the soul. Without this inward sanctification, none can enter the gates of heaven. To be made meet, therefore, for the heavenly inheritance, you must have a heavenly heart and a praising, adoring, loving spirit; you must delight yourself in the Lord as being so holy and yet so gracious, so pure and yet so loving, so bright and glorious and yet so condescending and sympathising. Now this meetness for the holiness, happiness, and employments of heaven is communicated at regeneration, in which the ne

Offers and Invitations?

“ Every declaration of God to the sinner is on the principle of Grace and Gift, NOT AN OFFER, which implies there is some capability in man to make use of the benefit offered. The "offer" of salvation is a denial of man's total depravity and ignores the Gospel truth of the new birth by the power of God .” -Gospel report by preacher John Hazelton (1853–1924 A.D.) When did God see The Blood?

There has never been a time when the eternal Jehovah did not look to Christ, the Lamb slain, as the ground of all His blessings to and the salvation of His elect. As He said of that earthly people that picture His redeemed, " When I see the blood I will pass over you " (Exodus 12:13) . It was not when they saw it but when He saw it! When did God "see" the blood of His Son as the justice-satisfying sacrifice for the sins of His people?  "When" really doesn't apply to God Who beholds everything in all of time and eternity with one all-encompassing view. Without a doubt there is a progressive manifestation and revelation of the purpose and will of God's grace in Christ, but the unchanging God of eternal glory views and always has viewed all His grace children in Christ. Looking to Christ crucified, He loved them, chose them, established His everlasting covenant concerning them, all with an eye to "the blood." Looking to
Not Ashamed: Part II by D.G. Miles McKee Last time we concluded that, as Christians, we are not ashamed of the Lord Jesus. We are not ashamed of His Virgin Birth, His Miracles, His claims or His silence. Let´s take this a bit further. We are not ashamed of His scream! Yes, you read that right, we are not ashamed of His scream! From the cross He screamed the agonising words, “My God, My God why hast T hou forsaken M e?” These were not the words of a man who has suddenly discovered that he was all wrong. These were the anguished words of the One who was dying for us. At the cross, He hung there as our S ubstitute. He was executed as our R epresentative and reckoned guilty before God. It was as though He tasted the depth of our God forsakenness. Our sins separated Him from His Father. He tasted the God-desertedness that His people´s sins would have caused them at Judgment day. What He said (His scream) and what he didn´t say (His silence) were both on our account. As B

Sufficient Grace

“ And H e said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for M y strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ” - II Cor inthians 12:9 [KJV]   When Paul was given a special messenger of Satan to buffet and beat him down in the flesh he asked the Lord Jesus Christ for immediate relief ( II Cor. 12:8) . Instead of removing the thorn in the flesh, the Lord in His infinite wisdom instructed and encouraged Paul that His grace was sufficient or enough to sustain him in the time of trial. Surely this is true for all of the Lord's people, although we often think in our time of despair and doubt that there is no way we can survive our trouble, heartache, grief and pain. Yet, the answer of the Lord is always the same, " M y grace is sufficient." His grace is sufficient to choose us unto salvation (Eph. 1:3-6) . His grace is sufficient to save us by His mighty powe

Justice Satisfied!

“ God cannot forgive me of my sins just because I ask Him too. Sin must be atoned for, justice satisfied. Here is the good news of the gospel. The sins that I ask to be forgiven of, the blood of Christ answers the justice of God for them . That being so, God can forgive me of all my sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. No better news than this.”   - Gospel report by preacher John Chapman
"Is anything too hard for the LORD?"   -Genesis 18:14 [KJV]   The Lord will make us feel that though His arm is not shortened that it cannot save, nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear, yet He is to be enquired of. He is indeed a God that worketh wonders; apparent impossibilities are nothing with Him; He has but to speak and it is done. But He will make us know His power by making us feel our weakness. He will often keep at a great distance, and for a long time, in order to make us value His presence. He will make us sink very low that He may lift us very high. He will make us taste the bitterness of the gall and wormwood of sin that we may know the sweetness of manifested pardon. He will teach us to abhor ourselves in our own sight, and loathe ourselves for our abominations, before we shall see and know ourselves washed in His blood, clothed in His righteousness, and to stand before Him without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. The Lord in one sense is

We must continually come to Christ

“ One great part of the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart is to empty us, strip us of self, lead us to feel our own weakness, and bring us as poor sinners to look to Jesus alone, as our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. And just in proportion as we feel our need of Christ, and realize our absolute nothingness without Christ, s hall we prize Him, enjoy Him, and exercise dependence upon Him. O how little do many of us know our need of Christ, and therefore it is that we make so little use of Christ, receive so little from Christ, and do so little for Christ! We come to Him at first as poor, lost, helpless sinners that we may be saved by His merit and mercy. And as believers, we must continually come to Him with all our burdens that He may bear them; with all our cares that He may manage them; with all our sorrows that He may sanctify them; with all our foes that He may conquer them; with all our sins that He may cleanse them; and with all our needs tha

Knowing God

"Acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee." -Job 22:21 [KJV] "Thus saith the L ORD , Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might, let not the rich glory in his riches: b ut let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth, and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD ." - Jer ermiah 9:23- 24 [KJV] A spiritual and saving knowledge of God is the greatest need of every human creature. The foundation of all true knowledge of God must be a clear mental apprehension of His perfections as revealed in Holy Scripture. An unknown God can neither be trusted, served, nor worshiped. In this booklet an effort has been made to set forth some of the principal perfections of the Divine character. If the reader is to truly profit from his perusal of the pages that follow, he needs to definitely and earnestly beseech God to bless them to him, to apply His Truth to the conscience a

Incline our hearts unto Thee, O LORD

HAVE YOU GOT A MINUTE? People in this generation are so ignorant of what the scriptures teach that it is hard to know exactly where to begin with them. Whatever you try to teach them from the scriptures about God is so foreign to them. They have been so long self-deceived and even more greatly deceived by false religion that the gospel of the cross is not only offensive to them but shocking to them. They are in such a rush toward eternal destruction that they have no time to listen or to think. Preachers feed them a diet of worn religious clichés and formulas on how to be saved and they go on their way deluded and delighted in it. I am looking for some folks that the Spirit of God will bring to “stand still and see the salvation of the L ORD .” Some sinners that He has given the “hearing ear and the seeing eye” of faith. Some true disciples or learners that sit at the feet of Christ’s word and listen. I cannot shout above the loud voice of false prophets.

Prayer for the LORD's people

"Save T hy people, and bless T hine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever." -Psalm 28:9 [KJV] David in this last verse of this Psalm closes with a sincere and fervent prayer for the Lord's people. He prays for vital things that we as sinners desperately and constantly need. Let us make this our prayer! 1). Save T hy people ….Who are these people? They belong to Christ by electing love (John 6:37; Eph. 1:3-6) . They are His by redeeming blood (Acts 20:28; 1 Cor. 6:20; 1 Peter 1:18-20) . They are His by an effectual call of grace (2 Tim. 1:9) . What do Christ's people need? Salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, for "all we like sheep have gone astray." Our Lord came to seek out and to save His lost sheep (Luke 19:10) . 2). Bless T hine inheritance , those who are the heirs of salvation, (Rom. 8:17) . In Christ we have a blessed and eternal inheritance; "an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away
