Our Assurance of Resurrection ~ Eternal Life with Christ JESUS

All true believers have the assurance of resurrection from the dead and eternal life in glory with Christ. What is that assurance? It is the Word of God that says, “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by Man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (I Corinthians 15:20-22). 

As the Lord Jesus Christ has taken our sins to the cross and died in our place, fully satisfying the justice of God as our Surety, Substitute, and Redeemer, AND as He is risen again because of our justification, He is the assurance of
every person for whom He died and arose from the dead. Christ Himself said, “And this is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39).

We who believe in Christ also have the assurance of the Holy Spirit Who “is the earnest [-pledge, guarantor] of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:14). In fact, the power of God that quickened us and made us to live spiritually is, in the Scriptures, compared with the power which raised Christ Himself from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). Christ died for our sins and was raised for our justification. 

We live because He lives; and we are free from sin because our Surety, Who bore our sins, is now free from them. He quickened and brought us to see and believe in Christ for our whole salvation. Christ also said, “And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40). As our sins imputed to Him brought Him to die, His righteousness imputed to us brought us to live eternally. Again, Christ is the assurance of our resurrection.

LORD JESUS, Be Merciful...

" LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee." -Psalm 41:4 [KJV] Is this the language of the man after God’s own heart? Was David a saint when he uttered it? Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 19 October, 2025 A.D.

"Behold, he prayeth!"   -Acts 9:11 [KJV] In many trades, it is customary to shew samples or patterns. By these men judge of the goodness or quality of the whole. St. Paul sets himself forth as a sample, or pattern, of the free, distinguishing, sovereign, unmerited grace of God, that we should judge of its nature by its efficacy upon him. “I obtained mercy, for this cause, that in me first   (-a first rate sinner) Jesus Christ may shew forth His all long suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting”   (I Timothy 1:16.) Thou hast seen this pattern of free grace. What dost thou think of it?  The whole is alike with the pattern. It cometh alike upon elect sinners.
