God's People Made Righteous in Christ JESUS

"Accepted in the Beloved..." -Ephesians 1:6 [KJV] If you and I are among the righteous, it is because we are made so IN CHRIST . The apostle says, (and it is such a comfort to our souls, because it admits of no contradiction, neither sin nor Satan can overthrow it), He was, "made sin for us, Who knew no sin; that , " it almost makes me afraid to utter the words, they are full of such grandeur and immortal glory, and shine like a diamond set with all manner of beauty, "we might be made the righteousness of God IN HIM , " (II Corinthians 5:21) .  Come, poor child of God, who are cast down by looking at your wanderings of heart, carnality, and daily failings, and who perhaps have come here full of confusion, feeling yourself a helpless and wretched creature, with your head hanging down like a bulrush, look up to Jesus , He is the blessed Head for the righteous, the perfect center of all glory and beauty!   Look at the perfect work of Christ, H...

Faithfulness & Truth

“O LORD, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy name; for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” -Isaiah 25:1 [KJV] A Man in Christ  I cannot be brought lower by the accusations and charges of men than I was brought to when I died in Christ; nor can I be lifted up higher by the praises of men than I am already exalted in Christ.  Nothing alters my state as a justified sinner in Jesus Christ. Having eternal life in Him, I cannot be threatened with death nor can I be enticed by promise of reward since I have Him Who is all.  As a man in Christ, why would I want to be somewhere else? What more could you give me? God in grace put me where I am! -preacher Gary Shepard of Sovereign Grace Baptist church located in Jacksonville, North Carolina USA Sermon Audio page link: https://www.sermonaudio.com/broadcasters/allsovgrace/

Old Gospel Hymn of Praise to KING JESUS

Jesus, the Lord, my Saviour is, My Shepherd, and my God; My light, my strength, my joy, my bliss, I in His grace rejoice. What’er I need in Jesus dwells, And there it dwells for me; ‘Tis Christ my earthen vessel fills With treasures rich and free. Mercy and truth and righteousness, And peace, most richly meet; In Jesus Christ, the King of grace, In Whom I stand complete. “Worthy the Lamb” shall be my song, For He, for me was slain; And with me all the heavenly throng Shall join and say Amen!

CHRIST IN ME, THE HOPE OF GLORY!

" I die daily." -I Corinthians 15:31 [KJV] St. Paul in a peculiar sense could say so. He was daily in danger of suffering martyrdom for Christ. He puts the most solemn oath to it. “I protest, by our (not your , see Strong's G2251) rejoicing, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” It is like swearing by the Holy Ghost, the Author of this joy. Happy Paul! the joy of the Lord was in his heart; the prospect of enjoying the Lord, in his eye; the world under his feet; and he, daily expecting his Lord’s messenger to call him home. This was living indeed in the very suburbs of glory.  And pray what should hinder you and I from living as he did? St. Paul was the subject of the same corrupt nature, in which dwelt no good thing, as we are. We have the same Lord to look to and rejoice in, the same faith and hope to animate us, the same Holy Ghost to strengthen and comfort us, and the same place prepared by Christ for us, as he had. Why should not we als...

Against Hope yet to Believe in Hope

"Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master." -Luke 8:49 [KJV] Mark, my soul, in the exercises of the father of this child, and in the happy issue of his application to Jesus how very precious it is, to wait the Lord's time for deliverance, and always to keep in view that delays are not denials . The poor man's child was nearly dead when he first came to Christ. And had the greatest dispatch been used, there would have been still much occasion for the exercise of faith and patience. But as if this was not enough, another poor sufferer comes in the way to stop the progress of Jesus in the cure of his daughter, and during this loss of time his child dies. My soul, here is a sweet subject for thee. Do thy fears, and unbelief, and doubts, and misgivings, aided by the suggestions of the enemy, too often prompt thee to think thy case hopeless; and every thing joins the cry, "Thy daughter is dead, trouble not the Master?" Oh think what a precious ...

Abide by the Testimony that Almighty God has Revealed

“I have stuck unto Thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.” -Psalm 119:31 [KJV]   In whatever state or stage of experience you are, it will be your wisdom and your mercy to stick to God’s testimony. Has the Lord just begun a work of grace in your heart? Is He shewing to you what you are by nature, and bringing before your eyes the sins of your youth, and plunging you in deep convictions? It will be your wisdom, and it will be your mercy, to stick to that testimony; not to be driven from your standing into despair, nor pushed forward into fleshly confidence; but to stick to that testimony which God Himself has implanted. Has God made you to sigh and cry from the depths of a broken heart – to fall down before His truth? Stick to that testimony; He will not put you to shame. Again, if the Lord has done a little more for you, shewn you the least glimpse of mercy and favor, and given you some little testimony of your interest in the blood of the Lamb, it will be your...
