True Faith

When the Lord is pleased to bring a person to Christ in faith, He takes away his despair but not his sorrow over sin. True faith gives a person pardon but does not make him presumptuous. True faith gives a person rest and assurance in Christ but does not allow him to be indifferent and leave off being watchful and dedicated to spiritual growth.  True faith gives a person strength, knowledge, and a good hope; but it never promotes pride nor allows him to boast. True faith brings a person to live for God but at the same time makes him more attentive to his earthly relationships and duties. He becomes a more loving, caring, generous husband, wife, parent, brother, sister, and neighbor.   When Paul said to the Roman church, " Your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world " (Romans 1:8) , it is certain he referred to their labor of love and works of faith; for true faith can only be revealed to others by the FRUIT OF FAITH. One cannot see our hearts, but they c...

Wonderful & Amazing Truth of our LORD JESUS Christ

“Salvation is of the LORD!” (Jonah 2:9c KJV) – What wonderful, lovely, simple and amazing truth of our LORD JESUS Christ! • Singular  Truth: He has it and no one else. • Sovereign  Truth: He dispenses it as He pleases. • Urgent  Truth: Don’t delay come to Him this hour for it. • Original  Truth: Salvation starts with no other than Christ our Lord. • Lasting  Truth: Salvation has always been and shall ever be found in this one person, by His one work, for His own people. • Concluding  Truth: He’s the Alpha and Omega of salvation. • Gracious  Truth: for it proceeds from the most gracious Redeemer. • Absolute  Truth: no wavering about it, no arguing with it, no changing of guard here, it stops with Him in whom we have to do. • Humbling  Truth: We cannot produce it or get it on our own, by our will, worth or merit. • Satisfying  Truth: the sheep would have it no other way!  -copied

We Are Born of God & Dwell in God

" One Lord, one faith, one baptism." -Ephesians 4:5 [KJV] Jesus saith of His church, “My dove, my undefiled is but one” (Song of Solomon 6:9.) One body, composed of various members, espoused to Him, by the Spirit, as “to one husband” (II Corinthians 11:2.) Hence called His own body (see Ephesians 1:23.) All such are most dear to the Lord. He nourisheth and cherisheth them. For they are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones (Ephesians 5:30.)   He is their one Lord, and His name is ONE  (Zechariah 14:9.) This is most true in doctrine. But this is not all. For it is found most sweet in experience also. This is by one faith. By this, we enjoy and walk in sweet and holy fellowship with our Lord and Head. What if I were told, there is one sun, what comfort would that afford me, if I never were to see its light, feel its warmth, and enjoy its influence?  Whatever is written of our one Lord, I enjoyed in experience by this one faith. But some talk...

The LORD's Covering Over His people

"And one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side." -Ezekiel 9:2 [KJV] Pause, my soul, over this scripture. Who could this one man be, but Jesus, thy Mediator. Did not His garment of linen mark His righteousness, and the inkhorn to write down His people, His pierced side? Hath He not written in the book of life the names of all His redeemed, that none of them may be lost when He cometh to make up His jewels? And was it not with an eye to this the soldier pierced His side when by His death He had obtained eternal redemption for them, that He might with His precious blood mark His people, as a shepherd doth his sheep?  Yes, Thou dear Redeemer! Surely I behold Thee sweetly set forth in this scripture. Surely the Holy Ghost, Who all along delighted to set Thee forth under various similitudes before the old church, hath graciously represented Thee here. Methinks I behold Thee now coming forth in the white garment of Thy spotless ...

An Appointed Eternal Kingdom in Christ JESUS

“And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as My Father hath appointed unto Me.” -Luke 22:29 [KJV]   For whom is this kingdom appointed? For the presumptuous, the proud, the hypocritical, and self-righteous? No; not for these. “I appoint unto you,” you that, “have continued with Me in My temptations ; ” you that are tempted and exercised; you that walk in the paths of tribulation; you that follow in the print of the foot steps of a suffering Jesus; you that know the painful exercises of temptation, and you are strengthened with strength in the inner man, to “resist even unto blood, striving against sin,” so as not to be carried away or overwhelmed by it. What kingdom is this? It is the same kingdom that the Father hath given to Jesus. “I appoint unto you a kingdom, as My Father hath appointed unto Me.” Now what is the kingdom which God the Father appointed unto His dear Son? Is it to sit upon a throne like an earthly monarch? To wear a diadem, and carry a scepter? “My kin...
