The Wednesday Word ~ 18 June, 2025 A.D.

The Unchangeable Christ by D.G. Miles McKee   The one true and living God is immutable. In other words, He is unchangeable and unchanging. He is neither capable of nor susceptible to change.  The Psalmist declares that, although everything is in a state of change,  “Thou art the same”   (Psalm 102:25-27).   God remains the same throughout all eternity.  He has the same will, character, knowledge and wisdom as He has always had and always will have.  He has never remembered anything for there is nothing He has ever forgotten (except our sins).  He cannot be taught, for He knows all things. He is forever constant and unchanging. He wants nothing, loses nothing and has no new thoughts. He is perfection and completion in all its unchangeable glory.  We may change and say,  “I am not what I used to be”  but God says,  “I am that I am”   (Exodus 3:14) .   God, of a necessity, must be unchangeable otherwise He cannot...

Unparalleled Mystery of Iniquity

"...and killed the Prince of life." -Acts 3:15 [KJV] O dreadful effects of the fall of man! We are not only become enemies to God, and rebels against Him, but are also, so ignorant of ourselves, and so blind to our own state, that we do not see this: we will not own it. An enemy to God! What, to that good and gracious Lord, in whom I live, move, and have my being?  I cannot think, that any one upon earth can be so wicked, as to be an enemy to God. Such is the language of blind nature. Thou that utterest it, art the man . Yea, such is the enmity of thine, of every man’s nature against God, that were it possible and in our power we should kill God. Start (-don't be startled ) not at the thought. Horrid as it is, here is proof of it. God was manifest in the flesh.  How was He received? How was He treated by sinful man? Let the annals of His holy life, speak the base contempt and hellish treatment He met with from man. Let the history of His painful and agonizi...

LORD JESUS Christ ~ The Altogether Lovely One

"To Him whom man despiseth; to Him whom the nation abhorreth." -Isaiah 49:7 [KJV] My soul, let thy longing eyes be directed to Him this day Whom man despiseth, and Whom God honoureth, and to whom He hath given a name above every name. Pause, in the contemplation of the wonderful mystery. Was Jesus indeed despised, and by the very creature He came to redeem? Did angels hail His wonderful incarnation, and man despise, hate, and abhor Him? "Be astonished, O ye heavens; and wonder, O earth!" But, my soul, go further in the contemplation of this mysterious subject.  What man, what individual man, was it that could thus requite the unparalleled love of Jesus? Alas, not an individual only, but a whole nation; nay, the whole nature, both Jew and Gentile abhorred Him; for while in a state of unrenewed nature, to the one He is a stumbling-block, and to the other His cross is foolishness. Ah, is it so, my soul? Why then it follows, that thou, even thou, my soul,...

God's People Stand Complete in Christ JESUS

"But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak." -Hebrews 6:9 [KJV] What is "salvation?" In looking at salvation, we must consider it in two points of view; salvation wrought out for us, and salvation wrought out in us. Salvation was wrought out for the Church by the finished work of the Son of God, when He cried with expiring breath, "It is finished." The salvation of "the remnant according to the election of grace" was then completely accomplished, so that nothing could be added to, or taken from it; for "by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified;" and thus the Church stands complete in Christ, "without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing." But there is a salvation which is wrought out in the soul; the manifestation and application of that salvation which Jesus wrought out by His sufferings, blood-shedding, and death; an...
