It Is Finished! Part II   by D G Miles McKee Here’s more good news about Christ’s Finished Work … All that the Lord did in that work, He did as our substitute . This is one of many ways Jesus demonstrates His Love for His people. He was born  for us  (Isaiah 9:6)- Consider this, the eternal God entered time and history in the person of His Son. The Creator became a creature. What immense love. He humbled Himself, yet the world scorned Him. He humbled Himself, but they called Him Beelzebub. He humbled Himself, but they called Him a bastard … an illegitimate child. He humbled Himself, but they said He was merely "the carpenter's son." At His trial one man could only refer to Him as "this fellow" (Matthew 26:61) . He was born for us, but more than that,   Also, He Lived for Us! Paul says, "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might be rich." II ...

"...So by the obedience of one (or by ONE obedience) shall many be made righteous." - Romans 5:19 [KJV] Joyful truth to miserable sinners. O that this word was ever upon our minds, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are My ways your ways, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 55:8.)   Our thoughts are, to make ourselves righteous by our own obedience; and our ways are, to be justified before God by our own righteousness. But the Lord calls us to forsake these unrighteous thoughts, as well as wicked ways, and to submit by faith, to His thoughts and His ways, to be made righteous by the obedience of ONE.  Consider, (1st.) this negative implies that no obedience but ONE, can make any sinner righteous. O professor, what art thou seeking after, and striving to be and to do? What is the end of thy praying, reading, hearing, communicating, striving against sin, and seeking to excel in obedience, etc.? "While the King sitteth at His table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof." -Song of Solomon 1:12 [KJV] That was a precious testimony Mary gave of her love to Jesus; and Jesus Himself hath given His approbation of it, when she anointed Jesus' feet with the spikenard. God our Father hath anointed His dear Son; and so ought we. Surely God's anointed should be our anointed; and if Mary poured forth the best of her offerings, my soul, do thou the same. Indeed, while the king sitteth at His table, and reigneth in thine heart, the graces will flow.  Yes, Thou heavenly King! when Thou spreadest Thy table, and callest Thy redeemed as Thy guests, while Thou suppest with them, and they with Thee, the humble spikenard, in the heart of a sinner, awakened by Thy grace, and brought forth into exercise, will send forth all that shall testify love, and praise, and affection, and duty, and regard.
