Lead & Teach Us, O LORD JESUS!

How little we understand of God’s dealings with us!  If we suffer the slightest set-back in this world’s goods or pleasures, we take it as a sign of God’s judgment and disfavor. If we prosper in this world, we believe that it is evidence of God’s pleasure with us. But, it is likely the opposite.  When God would visit a man with judgment aimed at his destruction, He withholds not the goods, but the spiritual ones; and the one He truly loves is often deprived of worldly goods so that he will more readily seek spiritual goods. Which would you rather suffer, blindness of eyes or blindness of heart?  Which would you rather have, riches in gold or riches in grace? Then, let each of us learn to not judge God’s ETERNAL dealings with us by His TEMPORAL dealings with us. I know that this is hard to do; but it is the essence of living faith to judge, not by what is seen, but by what is not seen, to live by faith in God’s promises, not by sight.  -preacher Joe Terrell

The Eternal Faithful High Priest ~ Jesus Christ the LORD of Glory

“And I will raise Me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in Mine heart and in My mind: and I will build Him a sure house; and  He shall walk before Mine anointed forever.” - I Samuel 2:35 [KJV] Many of the Old Testament priests did the best they could do, but they were naturally unable to do a perfect work. You know what caused Aaron to be unfaithful? He was a child of Adam. He may have done everything he was supposed to do as a priest, but he still could not get the job done. He was unable to secure the forgiveness of sin for Israel. There is only one priest that can do that. I will raise Me up a faithful priest that shall do according to that which is in My heart and in My mind .  We have someone that God is speaking about. He has to be God in order to fulfill this. We must have the God-man as a priest, a faithful high priest. And then it goes on to say there, and I will build Him a sure house . You're looking at that house. The church...

Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 19 December, 2025 A.D.

Come, sound His praise abroad  And hymns of glory sing;  Jehovah Is The Sovereign GOD,  The universal King. He formed the deeps unknown;  He gave the seas their bound;  The watery worlds are all His own,  And all the solid ground. Come, worship at His throne;  Come, bow before the LORD;  We are His work and not our own;  He formed us by His word. Today attend His voice,  Nor dare provoke His rod;  Come, as the people of His choice,  And praise your gracious God.    -old Gospel hymn: "I Love Thy Kingdom LORD"     -----------------------------    “Therefore, let no man glory in men. For all things are yours”   -I Corinthians 3:21 [KJV] If you are a Christian, “all things are yours.” You have an everlasting Father, the mighty God. He is called the true God and God blessed forever. He came where we were and found us naked and clothed us, starved and fed us, wounded and healed us, unclean and ...

Self-Denial & Total Reliance on Christ JESUS Alone

" Said JESUS unto His disciples,  If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself."   - Matthew 16:24 [KJV] We are called to follow Christ in the regeneration, (Matthew 19:28.) That is, in the new state of things, called, “the time of reformation,” (Hebrews 9:10.) wherein He has set all things right between God and us sinners. Christ has not left us any thing to do, whereby to satisfy divine justice, and to fulfil the holy law, in order to procure God’s favour, and a title to His kingdom: but only to come after Him, to reap all the glorious spoils and victories of the law-fulfilling life, and sin-atoning death, in our perfect reconciliation to God, justification before Him, acceptance and peace with Him.  O soul, this knowledge is essential to thy following Christ, in faith and love. Without this you cannot come after Him one step. Therefore in love He bids thee deny thyself. As though He had said, All things in the old creation of fallen nature are cont...

PROCLAIM GOD'S FAITHFULNESS

"God is faithful by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord."   -I Corinthians 1:9 [KJV] Think, my soul, what a dignity believers in Jesus are called unto, when brought into a nearness of communion with their glorious Head, in any exercise of trial or affliction for his sake. God is. faithful in the appointment. How? In that it proves God's fulfilment of His covenant promises, when Jesus and His members are considered by Him as one. God is faithful in manifesting this oneness and fellowship, in making the members conformable to their glorious Head, by trials or sufferings.  God is faithful in sending the affliction. And God manifests His faithfulness in guiding through it, and supporting under it. The trial itself, be it what it may, is a discovery of the covenant love and faithfulness of Jehovah. Nay, God would not have manifested His faithfulness to a believer without it. What a sweet consoling thought this is to the afflict...

The Mighty God Delivers in the Midst of Calamities!

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." -Psalm 46:1 [KJV] The Christian who has ever known what it is to worship God in spirit and in truth has a God to help him in his direst extremities; for as long as the spirit of prayer abides in his bosom—and that spirit once given is never taken away—he can at times and seasons pour out his heart before God, and find help and strength in Him. This, then, is one of his blessed resources, that he has a God to go to, the Lord of Sabaoth, into whose ears his cries may enter. But besides this, all the promises are on his side, which are yea and amen in Christ Jesus. Nor is he without sword or shield, or the whole armour of God. Nor is he without faith and hope, or secret supplies of strength made perfect in weakness. Nor is he without a knowledge of the truth, nor destitute of evidences of an interest in it. Thus, let a Christian be involved in the greatest perplexity, there is still the voice of pray...
