Great Encouragement in Christ JESUS ~ 02 June, 2025 A.D.

Wherewith shall we approach the Lord And bow before His Throne? By trusting in His faithful Word And pleading Christ alone.   The blood, the righteousness, and love Of Jesus Christ we plead He lives within the veil above For us to intercede.    Sure ground and sure foundation, too We find in His dear Name Herein we every blessing view And every favor claim.    Then let His Name forever be To us supremely dear Our only all-sufficient plea For all our hope is there.    From the old Gospel Hymn,   “According to Thy Gracious Word”   GOD’S PEOPLE ARE … - Labored and heavy laden in the world, but at perfect rest in Christ. - Constantly battling the war with sin (within and without) in the world, but at perfect peace in Christ.  - Poor in the world, but rich in Christ. - Sad in the world, but happy (with joy unspeakable) in Christ. - Filthy and vile in the world, but pure and clean in Christ. - Wicked in the world, but righteous in Chri...

Full & Free Promises Given to Us in Christ JESUS

" I will call upon GOD, and the LORD shall save me." -Psalm 55:16 [KJV] I have often been struck with the conduct of blind Bartimeus. When “Many charged him to hold his peace, he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David have mercy upon me ” (Mark 10:48.) Why was this? Truly he had a feeling sense of his loss of sight, and by faith he saw Jesus able to restore it. See the consequence of this importunate cry.  Did the sun stand still at the word of Joshua? Behold, at the cry of Bartimeus, the Lord and Creator of all the host of heaven, stood still. Jesus knows the cry of His own Spirit. He will hear it, and help the soul who utters it. “His ears are open to our prayers” (I Peter 3:12.)   Look, (1st.) At David’s circumstances. Was he now on the mount of joy, basking in the sunbeams of comfort? No, he is sighing out a doleful complaint, in the vale of distress. Says he, “I mourn because of the voice of the enemy, and the oppressions of the wicked. My heart ...

The Everlasting Gospel going Forth from Sea to Sea

"Living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be." -Zechariah 14:8 [KJV] My soul, was not this fulfilled in part when the gospel went forth from Jerusalem? And is it not now fulfilling, while the same blessed gospel is going forth from sea to sea, and from the river even unto the ends of the earth? Surely neither the summer's drought, nor the winter's frost, shall dry up or congeal those living waters. But, my soul, hast thou asked of Jesus, as the woman of Samaria did in the moment of Jesus's promise, for those living waters?  Oh if thou knowest, my soul, this gift of God, and wilt daily, hourly, ask of Him both in summer and in winter, He will give thee these living waters. Oh contemplate their property, and then, my soul, ask and receive, that thy joy may be full.  Jesus Himself is this well of living waters; and wherever He comes, like the ...

The Inward Teachings of Almighty God ~ Look & Live!

"All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out." -John 6:37 [KJV] Now, poor sinner, upon whose head the beams of a fiery law are darting; now, poor sinner, distressed in thy mind, guilty in thy conscience, plagued with a thousand temptations, beset by innumerable doubts and fears, canst thou not look up a little out of thy gloom and sadness, and see that the eternal God is thy refuge?  Dost thou not cleave to Him with the utmost of thy power, as being beaten out of every other? Hast thou not taken hold of His strength that thou mayest make peace with Him? Art thou not looking to Him? And does He not say, "Look unto Me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth?" He bids thee look at Him as Moses bade the Israelites look to the brazen serpent. Poor sinner, groaning under the weight of thy transgression, He bids thee look to Him. Has the blessed Lord, He into whose lips grace was poured, not said, ...
