Preaching Christ Truly & Examining Ourselves

To preach the soundest doctrine  in anger, pride or self-promotion is to not preach the Gospel.   To preach weak or unsound doctrine in the kindest and most personable spirit is to not preach the Gospel.   Furthermore, we are not left to a choice between these two.  We have a clear command from God as to the course we should follow.   “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of THE TRUTH.”  -II Timothy 2:24 [KJV]                                                             ...

LIMITED ATONEMENT ~ Joyful & Comforting to God's Elect saints

In the term “limited atonement” the word “limited” means Christ died only for the elect. “Atonement” means Christ made God and His people “at one.”    The other name for this doctrine is “particular redemption.”   “Particular” means the same as “limited” and “redemption” which means by Christ’s blood He purchased His people from the curse and condemnation of the law.                                       -preacher Clay Curtis of Sovereign Grace Baptist church, located in Ewing, New Jersey USA Link to their Sermon Audio page (copy & paste to your browser):  https://www.sermonaudio.com/broadcasters/sgbcpnj/

Great Encouragement in our LORD JESUS Christ ~ 19 May, 2025 A.D.

GOD’S WILL IN SALVATION! Exodus 33:18-19   “And he said, I beseech Thee, shew my Thy glory.  And He said, I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the Name of the L ORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy“             Is salvation by the will of God or by the will of man?  The above text makes it very clear.  Six times in one verse God says, “ I will .” In salvation God makes His goodness pass before the sinner so that they see and know their need of perfect righteousness.   Then God says, “I will proclaim the Name of the L ORD ,” speaking of Jesus Christ who is the sinner’s salvation.  It is God the Father Who divinely reveals to His people God the Son, Jesus Christ, Who is salvation.  The Name of the Lord is the revelation of all His attributes.   Then God declares, “...

Healthy Spiritual Contemplation

The believer has the new nature that never sins and the old nature that always sins.  This does not provide him with an excuse for sin nor a reason to not battle his sin.  But it does explain why he is so sinful.  Amazingly and mysteriously, it is the new man that owns and confesses the sins of the old man!     -unknown preacher of righteousness        *****    One of the old writers once said, “Do not look for that in the law which can only be found in the Gospel, do not look for that in ourselves which is only to be found in Christ; do not look for that in the creature (- world ) which can only be found in the Creator; and do not look for that on earth which can only be found in Heaven."                          – preacher William Jay (1769–1853 A.D.)

GREAT NEWS ENCLOSED...

Those who have been saved are those who are being saved (I Corinthians 1:18; Philippians 1:6, 2:12, 13) .  Those who have learned of Christ are those who are learning of Him (John 6:45; Matthew 11:29) .  Those who know the Lord are those who desire to know Him (Philippians 3:7-10) .   Those who have seen the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 4:6) , are those who continue to cry, “L ORD , I beseech Thee, show me Thy glory” (Exodus 33:18) .  These are the people who by the grace of God can say, “As for me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness” (Psalm 17:15) .                                        -preacher Maurice Montgomery

Thought for the Day ~ 19 May, 2025 A.D.

" Man judges from outward appearance, but God looketh on the heart (I Samuel 16:7) , and so it was Christ said to the Pharisees: “Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity” (Matthew 23:28) .  The law of Moses dealt with the motions of sin, but He that is absolutely holy, judges the motives of men. “I, the LORD, search the heart ...” (Jeremiah 17:10) .  If the motive is wrong, no matter how correct the external action may be, it is unacceptable with God." -Oscar Mink , excerpt from 'Contending for the Faith with a Right Motive'

Our Most Holy Faith - Christ JESUS The Sure Foundation!

" Building up yourselves on your most holy faith." -Jude 20 [KJV] Instead of going on comfortably in this work, many are questioning, I do not know whether I have obtained a most holy faith or not. Bring this to a point tonight. Has the ruinous fabric of nature’s self-confidence, self-righteousness, self-complacency, and self-pleasing ever been pulled down? Has the Spirit convinced you of sin?  Do you see yourself a lost, ruined sinner: so lost and so ruined by sin, that no one but the Son of God can restore and save you? Do you believe that He came to save sinners? Is it the desire of your heart, to be saved from ALL sin by Him? If so, you as surely possess a holy faith as you enjoy natural life.  And you will get stronger evidence, and greater assurance of it, by using every blessed means to prove that you have this most holy faith, while you build up yourself on it.  (1st.) This will appear to be a holy faith, by leading out your soul after a holy Saviour,...

The Best of All Friends ~ The LORD JESUS Christ

"Is this thy kindness to thy friend?" -II Samuel 16:17 [KJV] My soul, borrow the words of Absalom to Hushai, and make application of them this morning to thyself, as if Jesus, the best of all friends, were thus reasoning with thee. In how many ways hath Jesus manifested His love to thee. Think of His unparalleled love in the various ways by which He hath shewn it.  He engaged as thy Surety before that thou knewest any need of one. He took thy nature to fulfil all those engagements. He loved thee so as to die for thee. He loved thee so as to shed His blood for thee. He loved thee so as to wash thee from thy sins in His blood. He loveth thee now, so as to appear in the presence of God for thee.  He loveth thee so as to be continually supplying thee with all grace, to visit thee, to smile upon thee, to sanctify to thee all His appointments for thy good; and will never give over until He hath brought thee where He is, to behold His glory, and to partake of it.  A...

The Mystery of The Marriage Union ~ Communion In Christ JESUS

“And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving-kindness, and in mercies.” -Hosea 2:19 [KJV] Communion with Christ begins below, in our time state. It is here that the mystery of the marriage union is first made known; here the espousals entered into; here the first kiss of betrothed love given. The celebration of the marriage is to come; but the original betrothal in heaven and the spiritual espousals on earth make Christ and the Church eternally one.  As then the husband, when he becomes united to his wife in marriage ties, engages thereby to love her, cherish her, feed her, clothe her, count her interests his interests, her honour. his honour, and her happiness his happiness, so the blessed Jesus, when in the councils of eternity, He betrothed the Church to Himself, undertook to be to her and do for her everything that should be for her happiness and honour, perfection and glory.  Hi...
