Thought for the Day ~ 05 May, 2025 A.D.

" This body of believers [ a church ] is quite distinct from Israel in the Old Testament and is not simply a revamped Judaism.  The truth regarding the church as the body of Christ is declared to be a mystery, that is, a truth not revealed in the Old Testament.  Composed of Jew and Gentile on an equal basis, and resting on New Testament promises of grace and Salvation in Christ, the new entity is a new creation of God formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, indwelt by the Spirit of God, united to Christ as the human body is united to its head."   -John F. Walvoord, ‘The Millennial Kingdom,’ pp.134,135

Soldiers of Christ! Stand Fast...

" Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breast-plate of righteousness." -Ephesians 6:14 [KJV] Soldiers of Christ! hear and obey the word of command: Stand . Against every enemy, stand to your arms: against all opposition from within and without, maintain your ground. Face all: fight all: conquer all. Does sin attack, Satan assault, the world threaten? Do corruptions rage, temptations beset, and carnal nature rebel? Are thine enemies many and potent? is their fury great? is the battle strong?  Stand therefore . Why? Because you have put on the whole armour of God. Jesus is with you, upon you, over you, and engaged for you: therefore, “Stand fast in the Lord” (I Thessalonians 3:8.) “And in the power of His might: having your loins girt.” Long standing makes the loins faint and weak. Is there much pain in the loins? Here is thy Lord’s command: “Gird up the loins of thy mind.” Make thy loins strong. “Fortify thy power mighti...

The Great Work & Glory of Redemption: Infallibly Secured

"Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?" -John 14:10 [KJV] My soul, thou wilt never sufficiently contemplate this blessed oneness between the Father and the Son, in the great work and glory of redemption. Pause this morning, and observe for the confirmation of thy faith, that as Jesus is one with the Father in all the essence and attributes of the Godhead, so God the Father is one with Jesus in all the offices of redemption. God was in Christ's human nature; for He is said to have been "God manifest in the flesh."   God was in every name of Christ, every work of Christ, every word of Christ, every office of Christ, every attribute of Christ. And hence, in seeing Christ, we truly see God; in all His grace, mercy, love, salvation, and every blessing connected with our present, future, eternal happiness. And what a sweet thought is that, my soul, for thee to dwell upon; that as the Father is in Jesus, and in Him dwelleth all ...

Follow On to Know Christ JESUS, soldiers

"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the L ORD ." -Hosea 6:3 [KJV] We gather from these words that there is such a thing in soul experience as "a following on to know the Lord;" and indeed there is no obtaining the blessings which are laid up for the righteous, unless there is this following on. "To know the Lord" is the desire of every living soul; that is, to know Him by His own divine manifestations, by the gracious revelation of His grace, His love, His presence, and His glory. But the expression, "follow on," implies that there are many difficulties, obstacles, and hindrances in a man's way, which keep him back from "knowing the Lord." Now the work of the Spirit in his soul is to carry him on in spite of all these obstacles. Nature, and all the work of nature, and all the power of Satan working on nature, is to draw the man back; but the work of the Spirit on the soul is to lead him forward, to keep al...
